Big Papi Completes Comeback Win

Big Papi did it. He came through with a clutch hit in the 9th to clear the bases for a 5-4 walkoff win over the Tigers. The Rays lost to the Yankees, so the Sox pick-up a game in the Wild Card.

As big as Big Papi's hit, I am now officially off the Dice-K band wagon. Let's get rid of him. He is killing the bullpen 8 out of 10 starts. Yes, he'll throw a few good starts in there - just to keep you saying he has turned the corner. But then you get 8 more starts like yesterday. The experiment should be terminated. I'd rather take my chances with Tim Wakefield.

Nice debut for Ryan Kalish. I saw him at Portland & in the Arizona Fall League. He is very heads up & can be a help to the Sox in the future.

Verlander will be a tough opponent in the finale today. The Sox need to win every series here on out. So it's a big game today.
