Who Will Make the First Move?

The AL East is crowded with the Yankees, Rays & Red Sox all poised to make a pennant run & another playoff appearance. One team, unfortunately, will be the odd man out.

Which of these 3 AL East teams will make the first big move before the trade deadline? The Yankees were interested in Cliff Lee, so pitching appears to be their priority. The Rays are reportly interested in another big bat to bolster their up & down offense. The Sox could use bullpen help & a right-hand hitting outfielder.

Lots of talk about possible trades right now, but the Red Sox #1 priority is to get Pedroia & Martinez healthy & back in the lineup. Beckett should be ready to rejoin the team in another 10 days. Buchholz should be close to returning as well. Both of those guys will be a great help to the pitching staff.

The offense, while it has survived better than expected, is in need of the everyday position guys to get back in the lineup for the stretch run. Can Theo wait until he has a healthy crew again & still stay in the race? We'll find out over the next few weeks.
