A 6-2 win by the Red Sox last night & losses by the Yanks & Rays move the Sox to within 3 games of the co-leaders.
Like Clay Buchholz the night before, Jon Lester had a very workmanlike performance to get through the first 7 innings. Dustin Pedroia had a homer, as did Kevin Youkilis. Youk's blast turned a tight 4-2 game into a comfortable 6-2 lead. The bullpen was good again in shutting down the D-backs over last few innings.
It would be nice for Lackey to pitch well also & gain a sweep over Arizona tonight before the Dodgers come to town. Every game counts in this division.
