The Sox are in a stretch of 17 games in 17 days. It's not starting well as they went 1-2 in Detroit, dropping the first series.
According to today's standings, the Sox are 3 games behind Toronto in the loss column, 6 games behind the Yankees & 8 games behind the Rays. Playing .500 ball at 19-19 in the AL East gets you 4th place after the first 6 weeks of the season.
I'm going to focus on the Sox catching the Jays. You can't go from 4th to 1st without first going from 4th to 3rd. By the end of the month it would be nice to see the Sox in 3rd place & perhaps within 5 games of the Yankees & Rays. They play a short 2-game series in New York this week & travel to the Trop for 3 next week.
Playing some of the better teams this month will give us a sense of how good or how bad the Sox are as a team. So far they are just average.

The magic word is chemistry. The Sox don't have it. I think I have a pretty good idea how good this team is. You said it in your blog. They are a 500 team. No more no less!
I agree - chemistry, or lack of it, is a great way to explain this season to date.
