An opposite game to last night's 13-12 win, but the same result as the Red Sox squeak past the Jays 2-1 tonight.
8 great innings of 1-run pitching by Clay Buchholz. In the 8th, after a flub by Beltre which put a runner on 2nd with 1 out, Buchholz struckout Overbay & got Gonzalez on a lazy fly to center. That impressed me.
Ramon Ramirez looked sharp in the 9th & got a 1-2-3 inning with no dramatics. It's the first time I've seem him use 3 different pitches with good command.
Jeremy Hermida knocked in David Ortiz for the Sox only run until the 8th. Mike Lowell, who pinch hit for Ortiz in the 8th, drew a 4-pitch walk with the bases loaded for the winning RBI.
This is the 3rd series in a row that the Sox win. Lester goes for the sweep tomorrow.
