Beckett Nears Extension With Sox

Josh Beckett & the Boston Red Sox are close to announcing a contract extension. The deal is reportedly worth $70 million for 4 years.

Since 2007 Beckett has been the ace of the Red Sox staff. He took over the reins as the #1 ace from Curt Schilling. Schilling had taken over the top spot from Pedro Martinez.

Beckett & Lackey, along with John Lester, will be the first 3 in the rotation for the next 5 years. Not too shabby. All 3 have playoff experience as well.

I like Beckett & his determination. Boston seems to be a good match for his personality. I'm glad that he will be in a Red Sox uniform for the future.
