Beckett Gets 4 More Years

The Red Sox website is reporting that Josh Beckett signed a 4-year, $68 million deal which will keep him in a Red Sox uniform through 2014.

Even though it wasn't a Beckett-like performance on Sunday night, the big picture for the Red Sox is better with Josh in it for the future. Beckett joins Lester & Lackey for the next several years in a Red Sox uniform. Beckett-Lester-Lackey have a chance to rival the old Braves threesome of Maddux-Glavine-Smoltz.

I know. You are only as good as your last start. But trust me. Beckett will be worth keeping around for 4 more years. It a win-win for the Sox & Beckett.
