It's finally over. The 2009 World Series goes to the New York Yankees.
For the past decade the Yankees outspent every other team in baseball in search of another championship. This year it worked after several failed attempts, including the infamous 2004 collapse to the Red Sox.
Now we can get on with the free agency period & hot stove in the coming months. Bring on the 2010 season.
