With 20 games left in the season the Boston Red Sox have increased their lead in the Wild Card to 4 games over the Texas Rangers. While Boston was winning a doubleheader yesterday Texas split theirs, causing the Rangers to move another game back in the race.
The Sox now face a tough opponent in the LA Angeles for 3 games at home before heading out on the road to visit Baltimore, Kansas City & New York. The final stretch is upon us with 20 games in 20 days. An even 10 on the road & 10 at home. Even if the Sox play .500 ball & go 10-10, the Rangers would need a 14-6 record to tie. The Rangers still have 7 games left with the LA Angeles.
Not that it can't be done, but odds are looking better for the Sox at this point.
