We're use to talking about Jacoby Ellsbury laying his body out in center field to make spectacular diving catches. He does this with regular frequency & we are lucky to have such a talented outfielder.
Dustin Pedroia has made his share of spectacular catches at second base as well. I guess his most notable one, or the one that stands out, is the ground ball up the middle that he stopped to preserve the Buchholz no-hitter in 2007.
Yestersay's over-the-shoulder catch in the first inning absolutely turned the game into a win for the Red Sox. The White Sox don't score with men on first & second & no outs. Lester goes onto pitch shutout ball the rest of the way.
In my opinion this was a game changer for the Red Sox win.
