Buchholz Gets Another Win

Clay Buchholz seems to be settling into big league life. He pitched 6 innings of 3-run ball & helped the Red Sox to a 6-3 victory last night. 2 out of 3 wins in Tropicana Field against the Rays is a great start to this road trip.

The Red Sox seem to be hitting their stride in September after 2 months of a little better than .500 play. Buchholz is proving to be a dependable #3 starter. Jason Bay had a big 2-run double & is zeroing in on 100 RBI. Even the bench is contributing with a homer by Baldelli last night. A shortened game by Wagner - Bard - Pap is a nice recipe going forward.

I look at the Yankees & think that there is no place for them to go but down. They have won at an incredible rate since the All-Star break. Can they keep it up into the playoffs? Time will tell. Maybe they peaked too early. Similar to staying at a casino too long & losing your winnings. We know how A-Rod disappears in October.

Next up is Chicago. 3 out of 4 would be nice in the Windy City. Tim Wakefield may throw the last game on Sunday. It's a great September so far.
