One of the few brights spots in last night's game in KC was the plateau of 100 RBI reached by Victor Martinez for the 3rd time in his career. He joins Jason Bay as the other slugger with 100+ RBI this year.
In the recent past you would see Manny, Big Papi & Mike Lowell breaking the 100+ RBI mark. Not this year as the Sox find themselves slowly turning the team around from the mid-2000's lineup. Youk & Big Papi still have a chance to reach 100, but they would both need an RBI per game for the remainder of the season. Lowell has a respectable total of RBI, given his limited playing time of late.
Runs win games. Victor & Jason has certainly been cleaning up the bases when runners are in scoring position. Let's hope they keep it up through the playoffs.
