Wakefield Not Ready Yet

Tim Wakefield still has pain in his leg after a cortisone shot was given to help his ailing back. That means that he will remain on the DL a little longer.

It's been quite a year for Wake. A hot first half sees him earn 10 wins before the break. Then, he receives his first All-Star selection. Now, an extended stay at Hotel DL.

Without Wakefield the rotation continues to feature John Smoltz & Clay Buchholz. When Wake returns one or the other will drop out. I doubt that Tito will go with a 6-man rotation. Until then, both Smoltz & Buchholz need to improve to keep the Sox in contention.

Hurry up, Tim. We need as many healthy & productive bodies down the stretch as we can muster.
