Tazawa Gives Up 9

The Sox dropped the finale to the ChiSox 9-5. Junichi Tazawa was roughed up for 9 runs in 4 innings. He is a promising young pitcher, but not ready for prime time yet. Tazawa should get a couple more starts before Dice-K is ready to return.

On a positive note J.D. Drew had 2 more homers & Alex Gonzalez added another of his own. Drew has been as productive in the #8 hole as he has been anywhere else in the lineup this year. Maybe that's a good spot for him. Drew usually gets on-base & can help turn the lineup over.

The Sox start today 6 games behind the Yankees & 1-1/2 games ahead of the Rangers. My prediction for the Sox was to finish the month of August 5 games or less behind the Yankees & still in front in the Wild Card. With Beckett & Lester scheduled to pitch against Toronto this weekend we have a good shot at those benchmarks.
