Penny, Bowden Give Up 15 Runs

Question -- how can you score 7 runs off Andy Pettitte, score 11 in the game overall, & not beat the Yankees?

Answer -- when the Yankees are beating the crap out of Penny & Bowden for 15 runs in 6 innings.

If last Friday's comeback win against Texas with a 6-run 9th was the biggest win of the year, this was the biggest loss of the year. Opening game goes to the Yankees 20-11.

Maybe Penny's locker was located too close to John Smoltz's. After the game Penny said he feels good & thinks he can pitch productively for the Sox. Really? His ERA is 9.11 in his last 5 starts. Personally, after a crushing loss like Friday's, I don't want to hear how good Brad is feeling. I'm not feeling good. I couldn't sleep after his stinko performance.

Bowden was no better. I will say that bringing a kid who had been a starter into an inning with runners on 1st & 3rd is not a good situation. Tito could have gone to Delcarmen & let Bowden start an inning clean. But Bowden didn't have it last night either. He was sent back to the PawSox after the game.

Wakefield & Dice-K better speed up their rehab starts. We need them.
