Jon Lester pitched 8 innings of 1-run ball. J.D. Drew went 4 for 4, 2 homers, 3 RBI out of the 8th spot. At times last night it looked like men against boys. Toronto didn't help their cause with 3 errors in the field.
Last night's 8-1 win completes a big 3-game sweep of the Jays away from Fenway. The offense looks much better with 2+ homer runs in each of the last several games. The "dream" lineup last night featured Ortiz, Lowell & Drew hitting #6, 7 & 8. You may get a few guys out, but it's unlikely to get all 8 in a row. Everyone seems to be swinging a good bat right now.
Next up -- NYY. Let's see if the offense stays hot against Pettitte, Burnett & C.C. I'm predicting that we win 2 out of 3.
