Jerry Remy is scheduled to be back in the broadcaster's booth on Friday night when the Yankees come to town. The Rem Dawg has been a fixture in the booth for the past 20 years. My question is why come back at all this year.
Jerry has been through a lot. Cancer. Depression. Family issues with his son. Why not just take the extra time & skip the last 6 weeks of the season? Maybe it's not that simple.
Anyone involved in sports knows how "antsy" you can get waiting for that next game. Maybe Jerry needs to do this for his own mental health. Maybe he needs to find out if he can get back into his old lifestyle.
Whatever the reason for the comeback I give Jerry a pass. He's earned it. He deserves to get back to what he loves to do.
