With an off-day in Tampa Bay maybe this will be the time for David Ortiz to tell his side as to why he tested positive in 2003 for steroids. It's time to get it over with & move on with the season.
He can choose the A-Rod version of "I was a stupid kid & didn't know what I was injecting."
He can choose the Andy Pettitte version of "I just did it a couple of time to overcome my injury." Remember, Clemens told Andy he "mis-remembered" when Pettitte said Roger was right there on the juice with him.
He can opt for the Manny version & read an insincere statement written by his agent, take no personal responsibility, & say "that was in the past & I'm going forward."
He can always use the ever-popular line by Mark McGwire & say "on advice of my attorney I refuse to answer any questions."
Or he can just say "I did it" like Jason Giambi & Jose Canseco.
Pick any one or two above & get it over with. Since the new testing approved by the MLB Players Association only Manny has been caught still using. But he's not talking about the past.
Ortiz & his reputation will survive no matter what he says, so let's get the drama over.
