The Red Sox scored 4 times in the 9th & iced the game in the 11th to win their 3rd straight road series with a 6-5 win today.
Contributions to the win came from an unlikely source -- Julio Lugo. Lugo had another good day at the plate, eventually plating Ellsbury with the winning run. He is batting over .300 in limited playing time this year & added 3 hits today with a stolen base. Where was this offense in his first 2 years?
I still see the Sox releasing or trading Lugo once Lowrie comes back. It's almost as if each game for Lugo is a tryout for visiting scouts from other clubs. He could re-invent himself in a different city with a different team.
Thanks, Julio, for contributing to the win today.
