Sox Sink Mariners 8-4

Half the year is officially over & the Red Sox are in 1st place by 1 game over the Yankees. Did anyone think it was really going to be any different this year?

The Sox are on pace for 98 wins which should get them into the playoffs. Will the Yankees be odd man out again this year or will the Rays be unable to repeat? It's going to be a great 3 team race to the finish.

Jon Lester gutted out 6+ innings in a no decision today. The Sox offense finally put the hurt on Seattle's bullpen late in the game. Big Papi had 2 key hits, one a big fly over the bullpen, to help. Pedroia added 3 hits, only missing a triple for the cycle. How about Jacoby Ellsbury's sudden burst of power with another home run today?

Strap in for an exciting 2nd half. Every game counts.
