Jon Lester continued his dominance of the KC Royals with an 8 inning, 4 hit, no run performance last night. He got a big RBI double from Pedroia the Destroya' in the bottom of the 8th & then a nice easy 1-2-3 close from Pap to finish it up.
Early in the year Lester was subject to one big inning every time he took the mound. I chalked that up to the signing of his first big multi-year contract with the Sox & trying to prove he was worth the money. He has settled down now to become the same consistent pitcher from 2008 with dominating stuff.
Lester & Beckett make up the best 1-2 punch that go left-right in the league. We need them to stay consistent in the 2nd half.
By the way, the Yankees lost so we are back in 1st place solo.
