Congrats to Jim Rice & his family for finally making it into the Hall of Fame. It was a long & ardous journey, but the end result is a win.
As part of the famous Lynn, Rice & Evan outfield for several years in the 80's, Rice had to let his numbers do the talking with the sportswriters in this pre-steroid era. He needed all 15 years before enough of the writers finally embraced his body of work.
Jim's # 14 will be retired on Tuesday along with other Red Sox greats. Rice is only one of 4 players in the Hall to have played his entire career with the Sox. Doerr, Williams & Yaz are the others. Good company I'd say.
