With a normal offensive output of 5 runs per game the Sox would be coming home with a 4-2 road record. Pitching & defense have been very steady. That leave the offense.
Here's a short list of guys that could help the Sox bolster their offense during the stretch run:
- Victor Martinez, Indians
- Michael Young, Rangers
- Ryan Zimmerman, Nationals
I'm not sure what it would take to get these guys, but we have plenty of players to give back. Kotsay, Bates, Bailey, Baldelli, & yes, even Mike Lowell, Manny Delcarmen, Justin Masterson, Michael Bowdon, Clay Buchholz, Brad Penny. With Wakefield, Smoltz & Dice-K in the wings we are still stacked with pitching.
Ada, LaRoche is a nice player who should contribute. Let's get another hitter though.
