The Sox can use another good pitching performance with hopes that their impotent bats from the last road trip will come alive at Friendly Fenway. Brad Penny gets to showcase his stuff against the Orioles in what could be another audition for teams interested in a trade.
More important than trade considerations, the Sox desperately need to get a win. It can be 1-0 or 20-19, but they need a win. The Yankees just keep winning against the sub .500 teams which has catapulted them into first. In August we have a home & away series with the Yankees which will be very interesting since the Sox won the first 8 games earlier in the season.
It's our turn to beat up on the Orioles & A's during this homestand. We are a much better team at home, so look for a 5-2,6-1 or 7-0 homestand to right the ship. We should also see more moves before the end of the trade deadline.
