Several sites indicate 29 year-old Adam LaRoche is coming to Boston from Pittsburgh for 2 prospects in the Sox farm system. LaRoche is an above-average hitter & fielder who could see time at first, maybe DH & even pinch hit.
Does this mean Mark Kotsay is on the move? Who knows? LaRoche could be the first piece of a bigger future deal as we get closer to the trade deadline. The first move has been made by the Sox front office in the trade deadline chest match.
I expect more moves.

Larouche does not answer any of the question marks the sox have as far as I am concerned. Sox need a real stick and someone to move into Variteck's position.
