The Red Sox travel to Minnesota on their first stop of a 3-city swing at the top of the AL East. A crushing rout of the Mets today, coupled with a Toronto loss, have the Sox in first place.
The question of the day remains the lack of production at the DH spot by David Ortiz. What will Francona do?
I think the smart thing would be to flip-flop Ortiz & Drew. Ortiz would move down to #6 in the order & Drew would move up to the #3 spot. This may take some pressure off Ortiz & give him a chance to relax at the plate.
Another good thing is the fact that the Sox are in first place with little production from the DH position so far. We have the time to let Big Papi get his feet under him. This road trip may be just what Ortiz needs to get comfortable again.
