David Ortiz joined the HR derby last night as the Sox went yard 4 times in the 6th inning en route to an easy win over the Toronto Blue Jays. Jon Lester goes for the sweep today.
Ortiz had 2 hits, including a wall ball double to go with his first homer of the season. I bet he's glad to have that monkey off his back. Youk chipped in 3 hits in his first game back. Lost in the comebacks by Ortiz & Youk were the 2 HR's by Jason Varitek. Lowell went yard. And that guy Bay hit another long ball to bring his RBI total close to 50.
In the meantime, the Blue Jays have only scored 4 runs in 2 games. They look very beat-able right now & I'm sure they can feel the Red Sox & Yankees creeping up their back in the AL East.
