It was a slow start to the season. 2-6 over the first 8 games. I thought the Red Sox would do well to end up at .500 for the month of April at 11-11.
Then the win streak began in Oakland & continued through a perfect 9-0 homestand against the Orioles, Twins & Yankees. The streak ended last night in Cleveland, but the Sox now have a respectable 13-7 record going into the final 2 games of April. Nice comeback.
A win in Cleveland today & in Tampa Bay on Thursday could give the Sox a 15-win month. Most Sox fans would have thought that was impossible a few weeks ago. Just goes to show how quickly things change.
Honor roll for April: Jason Bay, Mike Lowell, Justin Masterson, Kevin Youkilis, Tim Wakefield &, yes, Jason Varitek for his long balls.

It's soooo nice to have Lugo back. He made an impact in his first game. That was a HUGE error. SB
