Angels Take Series 2-1

Just as in the opening series of the season, the Sox could only muster 1 win in Anaheim. The 3 phases of the game -- offense, defense, pitching -- just haven't clicked together yet.

ESPN's John Kruk thought Beckett should have been thrown out for his pitch to Bobby Abrieu after the home plate ump granted a late time out. Not so in my book. It was much to do about nothing. I think the umpires let that whole situation get out of control. They could have immediately issued warnings & let play start again. Regardless, as it played out, the Angels overreacted & got the ejections that they deserved.

Back to the game, the Sox squandered too many opportunities with runners in scoring position. Also, Okajima versus Guerrero is a bad match-up. Couldn't we at least try a righty like Saito or Masterson? I think Guerrero took Oki deep last year too.

I predict a comeback in Oakland & we win the series 2-1.
