Jon Lester's Rise to #1

My mom passed away in 2007. She was a big Red Sox fan.

When the news broke that Jon Lester had cancer she immediately said he would beat it & pitch again. I asked her why she thought that way. Mom just said that she knew it. Since mothers always know best I never argued.

After the first round of the playoffs & the 2008 regular season I guess Mom was right. Jon Lester has gone from a #3 or #4 starter who might go 5 innings to the #1 starter & closer of the Red Sox staff. His stuff is electric. Lester reminds me of a bigger version of Scott Kazmir. We will get to see both in the upcoming ALCS.

Nice to see good things happening to a good person like Jon Lester.
