The Chicago Cubs did it again. They lost in the first round of the playoffs. Their fans have to wait another year to break the longest World Series curse in baseball.
I had a coach who would tell our team during tournaments that it is easier to win once you have been a winner. And, on the flip side, it takes a lot of hard work & extra work to get out of a losing streak.
We Red Sox fans know the history of losing quite well during the 20th century. It took a bloody sock, a fortuitous bounce & other crazy happenings for the Red Sox to win in 2004. Maybe the sun, the moon & the stars will align for the Cubs next year.
Don't give up, Cubbie fans. 2008 is just another memory now. Spring training for 2009 is only 4 months away.
