There is no question that Josh Beckett does not have the velocity of 94-95-96 anymore. However, 91-92-93 with good location to compliment a good curve & change may be enough to keep the demoralized Rays in their current funk.
Maddon was quick to comment that his team will put this Game 5 behind them. No, no. Not so fast, Joe. As a player, you know that you just blew a chance to go to the World Series. Now the shoe is on the other foot. If the Rays get behind, they will have hitters that are pressing. And the bullpen knows that they can give it up.
The message for the Sox in Game 6 is clear. Get "Big Game" James out of there early & let's get to their shaky bullpen.
