Weekend Strategy Againsts Jays

Toronto has had Boston's number most of this season. We showed a glimmer of turning it around by winning 2 out of 3 in Toronto on the last visit in August.

The best game of the series should be Sunday when Lester faces Halladay. My money is bet on Lester to get a low-scoring win at home.

The pivotal game for me happens tonight with Wakefield facing off against former NH Fisher Cat David Purcey. If Wakefield stays away from walks & home runs we should win that game as well.

Saturday's doubleheader is a toss-up. The Jays have seen Byrd a lot & will score off him. I don't expect too much from Bartolo Colon. A.J. Burnett & Jessie Litsch have the edge in pitching in these 2 games. A split on Saturday in high-scoring affairs would be OK.

Best case for the Sox is 1 win each day to take the series 3 out of 4. Worst case is a 2-2 split. A win tonight would go a long way to setting the tone for the weekend.
