Even though this is a Red Sox blog, I would be remiss if there wasn't a mention about Tom Brady's season-ending injury.
We have been spoiled by season after season of excellence in the 21st century. 3 Patriots Super Bowl wins. 2 Red Sox World Series wins. 1 Celtics NBA Championship. During this stretch Tom Brady has been at the helm of the local team with the most rings. He will be missed.
I remember the Patriots coming out from under the big American flag on the Green Monster after their playoff run. All Boston sports share a common connection to excellence. Tom has been the Curt Schilling for his team with a remarkable run of 135 consecutive starts.
A sports career is fickle when it comes to injuries. Just ask Jim Rice about his broken arm in 1985.
Like all of New England, I wish Tom a quick recovery.
