Tim Wakefield gave up 3 home runs. Devern Hansack gave up a couple of runs. Javy Lopez looked like a poor version of "Dancing With the Stars" on a weak ground ball which led to a run. All this happened in the 1st 3 innings, taking the Sox out of the game early.
David Ortiz continued to pound the ball with 2 HR's. He accounted for all 3 RBI in a lineup with no Mike Lowell & no Jason Bay. J.D. Drew has been on the shelf so long that he will probably miss the playoffs at this point. Bay will be back for the series in Toronto.
It doesn't get any easier as the Sox face A.J. Burnett & Roy Halladay in the first two. Minnesota is playing poorly & continues at 7 games back in the Wild Card. The last road trip of the year ends in Toronto. I'd like to see us win 2 out of 3, but 1 out of 3 is more probable.
Enjoy the day off today, fans, as it will be an interesting weekend in Toronto.
