Rays Eke Out 2-1 Win

I appreciate a well pitched, low scoring game like tonight. Even though we came out with 1 less run, here's what I liked about the Red Sox in game 2.

1) Mike Lowell is a profile in courage to the rest of the team. When someone plays hurt, visibly hurt, that player picks up everyone else's play. Using effort as the measuring stick, Mike Lowell gets an "A+" in my book.

2) Josh Beckett is once again the ace of the staff. His first 2 outings back from the DL have been sensational. Play this type of game again in any of Beckett's future starts & he goes back out there in the 9th. He has his bulldog attitude back.

3) Congrats to Jason Bay on his new daughter. Maybe we have a different outcome tonight if his bat is in the line-up.

4) Jacoby Ellsbury's speed is a game-changer as evidenced by his 2 infield hits. He also indirectly caused an error by Longoria at 3B when Longoria bobbled a Pedroia grounder because Ellsbury was running at 1B.

5) Big Papi just missed launching a home run for the 2nd straight night. Ortiz is getting his swing back at the right time.

I see a lot of positives going forward. Let see if Wake can get us even again on Wednesday before we leave Tampa Bay. Wake has a history of pitching well there.
