Jon Lester started the 2008 year in Spring Training as the Sox #3 or #4 starter. His young career was plague with inconsistency, high pitch counts & a bout with cancer. Now 6 months & 15 wins later, Lester could be viewed as the Sox legitimate #1 starter.
Lester gets his last start & tune-up for the playoffs against the Indians tonight. I'm sure the Yankees are happy not to see him this weekend as Lester mowed down the Yankees in New York & at Fenway earlier this season.
It's great to see good things happen to a nice kid like Lester who has faced so much at such a young age. In every interview Lester sounds mature beyond his years. When you come close to losing everything, you appreciate all you have that much more.
