If the Sox are going to make a move on Tampa Bay, then this is the week. The Sox play the lowly Orioles & Rangers. Baltimore & Texas, while having good offensive numbers, also have the worst pitching staffs in the AL. The Red Sox hitters are hot & should score plenty of runs all week long.
The Rays start a series with New York tonight in Tampa Bay. Next Monday they come to Fenway Park for 3 pivotal games againt the Sox. If Boston can pick-up a few games to get within 3 of the Rays, it will make the series next week a memorable one.
Everyone says that the Rays haven't faltered yet. We could say the same about the Red Sox who have kept the pressure on Tampa Bay to keep winning. Both teams are 7-3 in their last 10 games.
Let's see who blinks first...
