It's been awhile since we've seen the former Florida Marlin pair of Josh Beckett & Mike Lowell on the field. Couldn't come at a better time of the season.
While Red Sox fill-ins such as Alex Cora, Jeff Bailey & Mark Kotsay have done an admirable job in Lowell's absence it will be great to get him back at 3rd so Lowrie & Youk can go back to their normal infield positions. His bat will be a nice addition at the usual #5 spot too. The whole lineup sets up better with Lowell in it.
In Josh Beckett's absence we have seen starts by Michael Bowden & Clay Buchholz mixed in with a number of off-days. Getting your top guy back at this time of year will allow him to build up arm strength with 4 or 5 more starts before the playoffs.
I hope J.D. Drew & Sean Casey are not far behind. We'll need everyone down the stretch.
