When Winning Isn't Everything

Is it a contradiction in professional sports to say winning isn't everything?  Do values like hard work, integrity & unselfishness make sense to today's athletes?

The Red Sox front office thinks so with their statement move of Manny Ramirez to the LA Dodgers.  Instead of talking about Manny, Manny, Manny, I give a thumbs up to the front office for bringing chemistry back to the clubhouse for the final 2 months of this season.  Don't be surprised to see a unitied Red Sox team get on a roll and make the playoffs.

As for Manny, good luck LA with the antics.  Joe Torre should start getting a supply of antacids now.  It's regretful that Manny will end up getting his spoils at the end of the season by another team offering him big money so they can win at any cost.

I applaud Red Sox management on this one.
