Losing is bad enough, but a no-hitter at home by an opposing pitcher is crushing. Thank God we didn't have to endure that cross.
Dustin Pedroia & Kevin Youkilis rose to the occasion in the 9th to give Red Sox fans some dignity in a 6-2 loss to the Angels. Lackey lost the no-no to Pedroia on a single & then the shutout to Youkilis on his 18th HR with 1 out in the 9th.
Did Lackey pitch well? Yes. Did the Red Sox batters swing at many bad pitches out of the strike zone? Yes. I think the combination of both lead to the downfall tonight.
Let's hope Beckett can right the ship tomorrow. LA seems to have our number this year.
