We could get use to this. Good pitching, good hitting, good defense.
Dice-K threw a gem against the #1 team in homers with 8 shutout innings. His fastball had zip. His curve & slider were thrown for strikes. Hitters, in fact very good hitters, were off-balance all night.
Our offense produced 8 unanswered runs with big hits from Ortiz, Kotsay & Bay. Pedroia the Destroya collected 4 more hits. The Red Sox bats put the game away with a big 6th inning after a close affair through the first 5.
Ellsbury starts the game with a huge catch in right center. Pedroia made a couple of great diving plays to his left. Other than that, the Dice-man gave the defense routine plays to make in a total domination of the White Sox.
Ozzie Guillen should know better than to taunt the Red Sox by saying there would be a letdown after the Yankees series. The Red Sox did their talking on the field.
