No Mike Lowell. No J.D. Drew. No problem.
The MASH unit put together a great win today with long balls from Dustin Pedroia, Coca Crisp & the game-winner from Jed Lowrie. It was a nice team effort to outlast A.J. Burnett & the Blue Jays in extra innings 6-5. 4 wins out of 6 games on this road trip is a good way to go into New York.
I had the "oh no" moment when Manny Delcarmen walked the 1st batter in the 11th. But it turned out fine in the end with Delcarmen joining Papelbon, Okajima & Masterson for shutout relief from the 7th inning on.
Chip in nice defense from Ellsbury & Bay with outstanding catches in the outfield. It was a day where the Sox would not be denied a win in late August during a pennant race.
There's still plenty of competitive fire in this team.
