A hand injury to a DH is like a cobbler with a hole in his shoe. Big Papi, however, has overcome his wrist injury to become a force in the 3rd spot again.
Ortiz may require a day off here & there, but it sure beats season ending surgery like Carl Crawford just had done. With Youk providing plenty of protection behind Ortiz the #3 hitter should see plenty of good pitches to hit. A more consistent offense makes life easier for the pitching staff.
Speaking of pitching, it will be interesting to see how the Red Sox hitters adjust to the Toronto pitching staff with the best ERA in the AL. We get Halladay, Marcum & Burnett this weekend. I predict we take 2 out of 3.
